I planned that the new book, D is for Data, would be available for anyone to purchase on Amazon today. However, the process was new to me and there is a review step that can take up to 3 days to complete before the book is listed. I hadn’t accounted for this review in my release plan. So, it might be today. Or it could take until Monday or Tuesday for the review to complete. I have heard that they do approve books over the weekend, but at a slower pace. So, fingers crossed, we should see something soon.
While we wait, I wanted to share a cute picture of my daughter reading one of the preview copies to our puppy dog. She was actually reading it aloud and doing a pretty good job with some of the bigger words. Crispy, our dog is very tolerant of being babied by our daughter and I’m sure she learned a thing or two about data analytics.

I ordered these preview copies to check the print quality and you can see how well they do with the glossy color ink. The illustrations really look great! It’s a funny coincidence that she was reading the “I is for Internet of Things” page which features a dog and a dog dish. My wife also said that while she took the picture, an announcement came out over all of our Alexa devices (which the kids have changed to all have different voices and accents) that “Your washer is done.” Another example of IoT! Life really does imitate art. Next thing we know the smart dog bowl will be putting poor Crispy on a diet because her smart dog bed weighed her and she’s too fluffy.
